女子ばかりのチームながら、善戦する風林中。
ですが、部員不足によるピッチャー問題はずっと付きまとってくるようです。
それぞれのポジションの練習以外に、ピッチャーの練習をしてきたのはほんのわずか。
風林中はこの問題にどう対処していくのでしょうか？

仁科が5点の先制点を許してしまい、交代せざるを得ない状況となった風林中。
そこで、練習こそしていませんでしたがピッチャー経験のある千里がマウンドへ。
何とか大尾中の攻撃を退けることが出来ます。
勢いづいた風林中は、メンバーたちの気合もあり2点を入れる事に成功し点差を縮めることが出来るのでした。

『メジャーセカンド 2期』の第17話ネタバレ・あらすじ・感想

ノーヒットに抑えられていた風林中は、５回表に大尾中の二番手ピッチャー・出光を攻め、千里のタイムリーなどで２点を返す。だが、大尾中はリリーフに眉村道塁を投入、太鳳をショートゴロに打ち取って逃げ切りを図る。４回から登板し、意外な（？）好投をみせた千里だったが、２イニング目に突入した５回裏に早くもスタミナ不足から握力を失ってしまう。連投制限で睦子も登板できないなか、マウンドに立てるのはいったい…？

2点を入れ、活気づく風林中。
このまま試合の流れを作っていきたいと考える大吾でしたが、何やら手を見つめて不安げな千里。
いくらピッチャーの経験があるとは言え、久しぶりの登板ではやはり体力が持たないと嘆きます。
他に代わりのピッチャーが居ない風林中の事を考え、大吾は千里に頼み込みますがヒット、そしてフォアボールを入れられるというピンチに陥ってしまい……。
まさかのピッチャー交代！

早々に体力が無くなり、交代してほしいと頼む千里。
最初は大吾も代わりのピッチャーがいないため、千里にこのイニングだけでも投げてほしいと頼み込みます。
ですが、やはり制球は安定せずにピンチに陥ることに。
そこに助け舟を出したのは、千里が困っている姿を遠くから見ていた弥生でした。
自らピッチャーをやろうかと言う弥生に驚いたのは大吾、そして昔から弥生を知っている面々。
何やら訳アリのようですが、それでも弥生はマウンドに立ち投球し始めます。
弥生の実力

弥生の速球を見て驚く大吾、そして道塁。
道塁は、ここまでの実力がありながらシニアに挑戦しなかったと憤りを感じます。
ですが、過去を知る太鳳はそこまで本気を出す事はないと考え、魚住たちは昔に起きた何かが引っかかるようで違った意味で驚きます。
大尾中の攻撃を太鳳のファインプレーも有り無得点でしのいだ風林中は、ピッチャーの弥生から始まる打線。
弥生は道塁のスライダーに初球から合わせてヒットを打つという好プレーをし、攻守ともにチームに貢献するのでした。
落ち込む大吾

弥生のヒットでチャンスを作った風林中。
試合を作ってきてくれたメンバーに対し、どうにかチャンスを作っていきたいと考える大吾でしたが、ゲッツーを取られてしまうという事態に。
続く仁科も打つこともできずに回は終わってしまいます。
次の大尾中の下位打線も、弥生の活躍によって抑えることに成功し運命の最終回へ。
トップバッターのアニータも執念でヒットを打ち、道塁をイラつかせます。
丹波、そして閑鳥は呆気なくアウトを取られてしまいますが、睦子は諦めず粘ったバッティング、そして諦めない姿勢を見せ、試合を諦めかけていた大吾を勇気づけます。
守備のエラーではありますが、出塁を決め簡単には試合を終わらせはしないのでした。
