ガビとファルコはサシャの家族と捕虜されたマーレ人が働くレストランへ訪れます。
2人は隙きを見てマーレ人のシェフ・ニコロにマーレからきたのを打ち明けました。
ニコロは2人がサシャの仇だと知り、2人を殺そうとするニコロ。
彼はサシャの家族に2人がサシャを殺したと伝えます。

アルミンとミカサを見据え、エレンは語り掛ける。「おまえらと話がしたくてな」と。
突如、エレンがアルミンやミカサの前に顔を出します。
「静かに話したかった」と言うエレン。
アルミンはエレンが単独でマーレを襲撃した理由や、ジークに懐柔されたのか聞くものの彼は「俺は自由だ」としか答えません。さらにはアルミンやミカサに冷たい言葉を掛けて傷つけていきます。
エレンはアルミンやミカサ、ガビを連れてシガンシナ区へと向かうようです。

突如、アルミンやミカサの前に現れたエレン。
アルミンはなぜ単独でマーレ襲撃を選んだのか、イェレナやジークに懐柔されたのか質問します。
しかしエレンは
「俺は自由だ」
と答えます。ミカサは「エレンは操られている」と言い、過去に自分を助けてくれたことを話します。
しかしエレンの心には響きません。彼はアルミンの記憶の一部がベルトルトのものになっていると指摘。
さらにミカサはアッカーマン一族はエルディア人に仕える種族であり、エレンを護衛する宿主だと錯覚していると言いました。
ミカサは、
「エレンだから強くなれた」
と反論しますが、宿主に命令を強いられると突発的な頭痛があると言うエレン。
エレンは家畜や奴隷が苦手で、苦手な理由がミカサが昔から大嫌いだったからだと伝えます。
本当に前から嫌いだったのでしょうか。マフラーを掛けてくれたり、これまで一緒に過ごした時間は嘘だったのか気になりますね。
ミカサに冷たい言葉を掛けるエレンに怒ったアルミンは彼に殴りかかります。しかし、刃が立ちません…。
エレンはアルミン、ミカサ、ガビを連れてシガンシナ区へ。
訓令兵や調査兵団に入った頃と比べるとエレンの雰囲気がすごく変わりましたね

リヴァイはイェーガー派を巨人化させジークを食べさせる作戦を思いつきます。
攻撃しジークの手足を失くすつもりです。
しかし、ジークはテントから抜け出し「オオオオオ！」と叫びだしました。
叫んだ瞬間、リヴァイの近くにいた兵団は巨人へと変身していきます。この混乱の中、逃げていくジーク。
リヴァイ一人で巨人化した仲間たちを殺していきます。
リヴァイの仲間たちもジークの脊髄液が入ったワインを飲んでいたんですね…
リヴァイがあの時止めれば良かったと戦いながら後悔してそうで複雑な気持ちになりました

リヴァイはジークを捕らえます。
巨人になったジークとリヴァイが対峙する際に流れていた音楽がかっこよかったですね。
その頃、シガンシナ区では訓令兵団が訓練中でした。
もう巨人が敵ではないことを知った訓令兵団には冷めた空気が流れています。
そこにフロック率いるイェーガー派がシガンシナ区の兵団支部を占拠したと現れました。
訓練兵をイェーガー派に引き込むようです。
フロックは訓令兵の師範・キースを殴るように指示。彼らはキースを攻撃しイェーガー派として認められました。
フロックの存在感がどんどん増してますね…
