前回は小佐波率いる特務班に再び囲まれ、その状態を突破するためにメンバーが協力しますが、アイコが行く道に必ず現れるマター。アイコの護衛をするためについてきたメンバーですが、マター取り込まれた際にアイコが自身の力で抜け出して、カーボン・ナノ・ストラクチャーを発動して銃器を操るのですが、反動で体に体に黒い帯が出てきて、雄哉はアイコの真実を語りだします。

アイコの皮膚に浮かぶ、カーボン・ナノ・ストラクチャーの黒い帯。動揺するダイバーたちに篠山と白石は、アイコの身体の真実――脳以外の全身が人工生体であること――を告げる。マリグナント・マターの恰好の餌となるアイコの“合成体”。ダイバーは自分たちが常に危険に晒されていたことを知り、クライアントの雄哉に対し不信感を募らせる。重たい空気がチームに漂う中、彼らの道行きに最大の試練が訪れようとしていた。

篠山大輔は雄哉が隊員の説得をしてくれたことに対して御礼を行ったことに対して、気にするなと返します。もともと大輔自身は報酬が高いことから何かあるなと感じていたようで、雄哉から真実を知らされても、特に驚きもしませんでした。ただ雄哉自身は自分の事をよく理解してついてきてくれる大輔に感謝しか内容です。

今回はアイコに対する真実が明かされる話でした。しかしダイバー達のリーダーである篠山大輔が亡くなったのは凄く残念です。物語もだんだん終盤に近付いているので、今まで不明な点が多かったところがクリアになってきますね。今回特に感動したのはアイコの決心した銃器の乱射です。アイコ自身の目も戦う女子中学生といった感じで凄くかっこよかったです。次回は伊佐津恭介が本格的に干渉してくるので、どうなるか楽しみです。
